Post summer plans for your new pup?

School holidays are a super popular time for bringing a new puppy into the family (how exciting!) and it's important to remember that when the fun of the summer holidays ends your gorgeous new pup will most probably be in need of some extra attention while you're back at work and at school.

At The K9 Capers Co. we are fully insured to look after puppies and very happily welcome them once fully vaccinated (so usually 12 weeks) to join us for Doggy Day Care and on Group Walks (which at their age will mostly be cuddles and carries - providing really fantastic stimulation and socialisation even without full time paws on the ground!).

The positive difference that socialisation from an early age can make to temperament and character cannot be over emphasised.

As new puppy owners will know, it is really important to carefully limit how much pups walk - a good rule of thumb is a ratio of five minutes exercise per month of age (up to twice a day) until your pup is fully grown, i.e. 15 minutes (up to twice a day) when three months old, 20 minutes when four months old etc. until they are fully grown.

Consequently, as well as their short walks during Doggy Day Care and Group Walks, there is plenty of cuddle time, fun and games as well as a chance for some shut eye where your pup joins us for Doggy Day Care.

If you are thinking of bringing a new puppy or of course a rescue doggie into your home this summer (or any time!) do get in touch and we will be happy to come and meet you, have a chat through your and your K9 companion's needs, and get regular Doggy Day Care or Dog Walking booked in to our diary for you.

The K9 Capers Co. is fully insured, registered, K9 First Aid and CPR trained and DBS checked for clients' peace of mind.

We look forward to hearing - and Happy Summer!
